The Dining Car provides nutritious prepared meals in a family-friendly, climate-controlled environment.
On weekdays, breakfast, including coffee and juice, is served from 9:00 to 10:00am, and lunch is served from 10:45am to 1:00pm.
On Saturday morning, substantial sack lunches are distributed at 9:00am.
Special meals, like Thanksgiving, are also hosted each year.
Led by staff, volunteers in The Dining Car prepare and serve these meals. A weekday lunch, for example, might include pork loin, corn, twice-baked potatoes, salad, and a dessert. On Saturday mornings, volunteers prepare sandwiches and food bags. Dining Car volunteers should hold a valid Food Handler certificate.
